Local Consumption Boosted... Yangsan City to Host First Alley-Type Shopping District "Naraegil Companion Festival"

Discounts, Experiences, and Events
Boosting Sales for Small Business Owners

Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province is injecting new vitality into the local commercial district.

On November 6 and 7, the city will host the "Naraegil Companion Festival" in the Narae Metro City area, which is Yangsan's first alley-type shopping district. The event aims to boost local consumption and create a space for both merchants and citizens to thrive together.

This festival has been organized as part of the nationwide large-scale consumer event, the "Korea Grand Festival."

The "Korea Grand Festival" is a massive consumer festival held both online and offline across the country from October 29 to November 9, spanning 12 days. Approximately 30,000 organizations are participating, including ten government ministries such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as well as major retailers, manufacturers, and small business owners.

During the event, Narae Metro City Shopping District will feature a variety of interactive events, including a lucky draw, Tuho (arrow-throwing) game, and DIY experience booths.

In addition, customers who shop within the district will receive discount coupons worth up to 10,000 won, Onnuri gift certificates, and various prizes, which are expected to further energize the alley-type shopping district.

Citizens will also be able to take advantage of additional benefits from the Korea Grand Festival, such as a 5% extra discount on the Yangsan Love Card, a special 10-15% rebate on digital Onnuri gift certificates, and the opportunity to enter the Win-Win Consumption Lottery, which is expected to significantly enhance consumer satisfaction.

Narae Metro City, designated as Yangsan's first alley-type shopping district, has been recognized as an exemplary case of revitalizing local commercial areas. On October 30, the Ulsan Ulju County Council's Small Business Policy Research Association visited for benchmarking and held a discussion session.

A city official stated, "Yangsan's alley-type shopping districts are regarded as exemplary cases even within the Gyeongnam region. We hope this event will enhance the competitiveness of the local commercial district and serve as an opportunity to inject new vitality into the local economy."
