On November 4, Siheung City announced that it will hold the "1st Siheung Oido Red Lighthouse Festival" for two days on the 8th and 9th in the area surrounding the Oido Red Lighthouse. The "Oido Red Lighthouse," located at the entrance of Oido Pier, is a symbolic maritime landmark of Siheung City. Visitors can enjoy views of the sunset over the West Sea from the observatory inside the lighthouse.

The city plans to develop this festival into a cultural and experiential maritime festival that connects Oido and Turtle Island as a tourism belt, allowing both local residents and visitors to enjoy the event together.

The festival will feature a variety of programs centered around the Red Lighthouse, including a Cultural Experience Zone, a Main Stage, and a Special Program Zone.

In the Cultural Experience Zone, visitors can enjoy activities such as "Shrimp in Salt," bare-handed shrimp catching, mudflat experiences, and prehistoric cultural experiences. The Main Stage will host performances, a self-service restaurant, a celebrity seller flea market, and citizen performances. The Special Program Zone will offer clown performances, busking, taekwondo demonstrations, and hanbok-wearing experiences.

The city aims to use this festival to revitalize tourism centered on Oido, promote local economic growth, and expand cultural and experiential resources.
