Why Teddy Valley Golf & Resort Is Bustling During the Off-Season

Hosting the KPGA Tour Championship Finale
Active Participation with a Five-Year Long-Term Contract Starting This Year
Course Closed Three Days Before the Tournament to Ensure Optimal Conditions

Teddy Valley Golf & Resort in Seogwipo, Jeju, is bustling with activity.

Despite it being the off-season, the resort is busy. Teddy Valley Golf & Resort has secured the final event of the 2025 season Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, the KPGA Tour Championship, with a total prize pool of 1.1 billion won. The tournament will take place from November 6 to 9 over four days on the Valley and Teddy courses (par 72, 7,259 yards).

This is the first time a KPGA Tour event is being held at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort. The KPGA Tour Championship will continue to be played at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort through 2029. The resort closed to the public on November 3, three days before the tournament, to prepare the course so that the participating players can compete in optimal conditions.

Kim Min, Vice Chairman of Teddy Valley Golf & Resort, said, "We wanted to contribute to the resurgence of the KPGA Tour's popularity, so we secured the tournament through a long-term five-year contract. Jeju was once called a golf paradise, but it seems to have lost some of its prestige. We want to restore Jeju's image with a top-class course."

He added, "We will do our best to enhance the symbolic value of the KPGA Tour Championship as the season finale. To strengthen the franchise of the KPGA Tour and the KPGA Tour Championship, we will foster unity and synergy by attracting sponsorships and cooperation from our own golf club and Jeju-based companies."

Teddy Valley Golf & Resort opened in 2007 in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju. Golfers can enjoy the fresh air from Jeju's Gotjawal Forest and play on green grass all year round. The members-only club features 18 holes on a 1,054,620-square-meter (about 320,000-pyeong) site, with each hole offering a picturesque panorama.

The resort is not cold in winter and is minimally affected by wind, rain, fog, or snow, making it suitable for year-round play. The fairways are planted with Bermuda grass, which is preferred on courses used for the PGA Tour in the United States. The greens are renowned for being "Augusta National-level," with a notoriously fast speed of 3.3 meters, earning them the nickname "glass plates." The resort has previously hosted successful events such as the KLPGA Tour BC Card Classic and the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship.
