'I Go to the Temple' Couple Kil Dong Son and Gil Sun Lim Visit Baekyangsa Ahead of Wedding: "Happy to Return After a Year"

The couple Kil Dong Son and Gil Sun Lim, who appeared on the program "I Go to the Temple, Baekyangsa," visited Baekyangsa Temple on November 1, marking one year since their appearance on the show. The two completed their marriage registration on September 1 and are set to hold their wedding ceremony on November 23.

Venerable Mugong, head monk of Baekyangsa Temple, said, "I heard from the Social Welfare Foundation staff that two couples who participated in the Baekyangsa program are getting married. I am delighted and grateful to meet again for such a wonderful occasion exactly one year later."

He continued, "In Buddhism, marriage is called 'Hwahon,' meaning a beautiful union. The way to maintain a happy marriage for life is to respect each other's character and to be attentive to each other's hearts. If you have many children, you will be even happier, so every time you have a child, come to Baekyangsa Temple and I will offer you my heartfelt encouragement." Venerable Mugong presented the first couple with a cash gift and prayer beads made from the Bodhi tree grown at Baekyangsa Temple.

Kil Dong Son and Gil Sun Lim expressed their gratitude, saying, "We are deeply thankful to be able to get married thanks to the great consideration of the Social Welfare Foundation of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and Baekyangsa Temple. As Venerable Mugong requested, we will cherish and love each other and do our best to live well together." The couple also said, "We sincerely hope that 'I Go to the Temple' will continue to thrive and that Buddhist social welfare will further develop," and delivered a donation of 1 million won to the 'Buddhist Social Welfare Fund' to Venerable Deokwoon, Secretary-General of the Social Welfare Foundation of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.

In addition to this couple, other couples from the "I Go to the Temple" program include "Gyeonwoo No. 5" (male) and "Jiknyeo No. 8" (female) from "I Go to the Temple, Naksansa," as well as "Kil Dong Kwon" (male) and "Kil Sun Kwon" (female) from "I Go to the Temple, Baekyangsa."
