$20,000 One-Time Payment or $499 Monthly Subscription
An artificial intelligence (AI) humanoid robot capable of handling various household chores such as dishwashing and cleaning, as well as providing companionship, will be launched in the United States next year.
According to local media outlets such as the New York Post, 1X Technologies, a California-based AI robotics company, plans to introduce its home-use humanoid robot 'Neo' to the U.S. market in early 2026.

To purchase Neo, the humanoid robot standing at 175 cm tall, customers can either pay a monthly subscription fee of $499 (approximately 710,000 KRW) or make a one-time payment of $20,000 (approximately 28.6 million KRW). Pre-orders began this week, and reservations can be made on the 1X Technologies homepage by paying a $200 (approximately 290,000 KRW) deposit. Neo features a human-like face, two arms, and two legs, and buyers can choose from three models: light brown, gray, or dark brown.
Bernt Børnich, CEO and founder of 1X Technologies, stated, "Humanoids have long been the subject of science fiction. Later, they became the subject of research, but today, with the launch of Neo, humanoids have become a product." He emphasized, "Neo bridges the gap between our imagination and the world we live in, enabling us to actually receive help from human-like robots when we ask for it."
Neo's hands are waterproof, allowing it to do the dishes and laundry. It can also open doors for guests, fetch items, and turn off the lights at night. Users can specify the desired time for household chores to be performed. The robot's capabilities are said to improve with each software update. Owners can check the status of their humanoid through a mobile app.
1X Technologies explained that Neo uses 'Audio and Visual Intelligence' technology to simultaneously analyze voice and visual information. This enables it to respond instantly to user commands and to engage in increasingly natural conversations through repeated learning. In addition, Neo can be immediately trained to perform unfamiliar tasks through real-time remote sessions with 1X experts.
Meanwhile, overseas internet users have shown mixed reactions, ranging from positive comments like "Order complete. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs in fully autonomous mode," to concerns such as, "What if it turns into a maniac and kills someone while they're sleeping?"
