A Time for Communication with Labor Representatives

The festival, hosted by the Northeastern Branch of the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions (Chairman Ham Heungyeong), was attended by over 2,000 people, including Mayor Joo Kwangdeok, local members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, labor, management, and government representatives, as well as the families of union members.
The event began with preliminary foot volleyball matches, followed by commendations for exemplary workers, sports activities, and an awards ceremony. Participants took part in a variety of programs such as tug-of-war, shoe throwing, and hula hooping, making it a meaningful occasion to foster harmony and communication among labor, management, and government.
In addition, 11 exemplary workers from local companies such as KCC Glass, Gyeonggi Bus, and Geumseong Transportation received commendations, providing an opportunity to reaffirm the value of labor.
In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "A society where labor is respected and a culture of labor-management coexistence is established will allow the local economy to grow together," adding, "I will do my best to create a culture where people work joyfully and to make Namyangju a happy city."
