Emphasizes on Facebook: "The Truth About Daejang-dong Is Coming to Light"
Claims President Lee Jaemyung Was Demonized and the 21st Presidential Election Was "Stolen"
Says Prosecutors' Orchestrated Investigations, Including the North Korea Remittance Case, Will Be Exposed
Calls for Special Prosecutor to Judge Judicial Rebellion by Cho Hee-dae, Ji Gwi-yeon, and Others
Jo Gye-won, member of the Democratic Party of Korea
Assemblyman Jo Gye-won of the Democratic Party of Korea (Yeosu-eul) stated that "justice has prevailed" in response to the recent court decision that resulted in the immediate detention of all private contractors implicated in the "Daejang-dong development corruption scandal," including Kim Man-bae, at the first trial.
On November 1, Assemblyman Jo wrote on his Facebook page, "The truth about Daejang-dong is finally coming to light," and added, "The political prosecutors who demonized President Lee Jaemyung and ultimately stole the 21st presidential election by a margin of 0.7%-their collusion with the real criminals will also be fully exposed."
He continued, "Justice has prevailed. Other cases where political prosecutors set traps to hunt President Lee-such as the 'North Korea Remittance Fabrication Case,' the 'Seongnam FC Embezzlement Fabrication Case,' and the 'Gyeonggi Province Corporate Card Case'-will also be revealed as reckless, orchestrated investigations by the prosecution." He further emphasized, "Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae must also be held accountable through a special prosecutor's investigation for attempting to remove President Lee Jaemyung with an unlawful, expedited ruling without properly reviewing the appellate decision on the Public Official Election Act, as well as for the judicial rebellion and the cancellation of the arrest warrant for Yoon Suk-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, by Judge Ji Gwi-yeon’s panel."
He added, "The rebellion is not over yet. How can such people still serve as Chief Justice and continue these rebellion trials?" He asserted, "The entire nation is aware of how persistently and for how long President Lee Jaemyung has been ensnared and demonized by the prosecution’s fabricated investigations."
Meanwhile, on October 31, the 22nd Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Cho Hyung-woo) sentenced Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, to eight years in prison and ordered the forfeiture of 42.8 billion won for charges including breach of trust and aggravated breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. Nam Wook, an attorney who was also indicted, received a four-year prison sentence, while Jung Young-hak, an accountant, was sentenced to five years in prison. Attorney Jung Min-yong was sentenced to six years in prison, a fine of 3.8 billion won, and forfeiture of 3.72 billion won. Yoo Dong-gyu, former head of planning at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, was sentenced to eight years in prison, a fine of 400 million won, and forfeiture of 810 million won.
