Third Place in General Division Mixed Doubles
The Hwasun County Office Badminton Team from South Jeolla Province won two medals at the 63rd National Badminton Association President’s Cup National Badminton Championships.

According to the county on October 31, the tournament was held from October 22 to 29 at the Woosul Gymnasium and Dongbaek Gymnasium in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province. The Hwasun County Office Badminton Team secured third place in the women’s general division team event and third place in the general division mixed doubles, earning a total of two medals.
In the quarterfinals of the women’s general division team event, Hwasun County Office defeated MG Saemaeul Geumgo 3:2 to advance to the semifinals, but lost 0:3 to Gimcheon City Hall, finishing in third place.
In the general division mixed doubles, the pair of Wang Chan (Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps) and Minyun Jang (Hwasun County Office) beat the pair of Han Yosep (Jeonju City Hall) and Kim Minsol (Jeonbuk Bank) 2:0 in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals. However, they suffered a narrow 1:2 defeat to the pair of Kim Younghyeok and Kim Minji (Gimcheon City Hall) in the semifinals, finishing in third place.
Governor Koo Bokgyu said, "I am grateful and proud of the athletes who gave their best until the very end of the tournament," adding, "We will continue to give our full support and attention to help our athletes further develop their skills."
