Lee Hae-jin, Chairman of the Board at Naver, attended a meeting on the afternoon of October 31 at the HICO Convention Center in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, together with President Lee Jaemyung and Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Lee stated, "We are entering an era of 'physical AI,' where AI operates within real industrial sites and systems," adding, "Naver will support companies in utilizing their data more effectively and help the industry make a significant leap forward through our AI and cloud technologies."

This collaboration is expected to accelerate the expansion of AI technology into industrial sites and serve as a concrete step toward the digital transformation of the entire manufacturing sector.

Naver Cloud has signed an MOU with Nvidia to jointly develop a next-generation 'physical AI' platform that organically connects physical and digital spaces, and to build AI infrastructure focusing on the nation's key industries such as semiconductors, shipbuilding, and energy.

The plan is to identify and promote AI application models specialized for major industries such as shipbuilding, energy, and bio, and to lead their widespread adoption so that AI technology optimized for industrial sites can be rapidly established.

The two companies plan to combine Naver Cloud's next-generation technological capabilities, including digital twin and robotics, with Nvidia's 3D simulation and robotics platforms such as Omniverse and Isaac Sim, to precisely replicate real industrial environments in virtual spaces and implement a physical AI platform where AI can assist with analysis, decision-making, and control.

In particular, this collaboration represents the first step toward realizing Naver Cloud's 'Sovereign AI 2.0' vision. While the original Sovereign AI focused on securing technological sovereignty by building AI models and ecosystems centered around the nation's language and culture, Sovereign AI 2.0 is an evolved concept that expands this to core national industries and daily life to further enhance national competitiveness.

To realize this vision, Naver Cloud has promoted initiatives such as open-sourcing the HyperCLOVA X model, linking with national AI projects, and operating AI talent development programs.

Kim Yuwon, CEO of Naver Cloud, stated, "By combining hyperscale AI infrastructure and cloud operation capabilities with digital twin and robotics technologies, we aim to become a trusted technology partner that strengthens the competitiveness of industrial sites and leads AI innovation in the domestic manufacturing industry."
