The 'Student Portfolio Competition', organized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), is held to foster engineering professionals equipped with both academic expertise and diverse field experience, and to enhance students' self-development skills through portfolio creation.

The competition is open to third- and fourth-year students in engineering programs participating in the engineering education accreditation system. Applications are accepted in advance through each university's Center for Engineering Education Innovation for four categories: Category 1 (Comprehensive), Category 2 (Capstone Design Activities - Integrated Design), Category 3 (International Capstone Design Activities), and Category 4 (Employment and Entrepreneurship Activity Reports). Winners are selected through expert evaluation.

The Center for Engineering Education Innovation at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (Director: Kim Minseok) supported students' participation in the competition as part of the Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Development Support Project, providing mentoring and portfolio writing education. This year, two projects from the university were selected for awards.

The Center for Engineering Education Innovation previously won awards in four categories, including the Minister of Education Award, at the 17th competition, and in three categories, including the ABEEK President Award, at the 18th competition.

Daehyun Kim, who received the award for his project titled "Rough Terrain Adaptive Robot with 3D Helical Slot-Based Expandable Wheels," said, "Through the process of preparing for the competition and writing my portfolio, I was able to plan my future in detail and develop the ability to approach and solve problems from various perspectives. I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Shin Dongwon of the Systems and Vision Laboratory, as well as to the Center for Engineering Education Innovation, for their invaluable support."

The awards ceremony for the 2025 Student Portfolio Competition was held on October 30 at EXCO in Daegu, as part of the '2nd University Education Innovation Forum with Industry', hosted by the Ministry of Education and co-organized by ABEEK and the Gwangju RISE Center.
