Nau Robotics, a robotics company led by CEO Lee Jongju, announced on the 30th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Incheon City at the Incheon Robot Industry Innovation Growth Policy Announcement event, held at the Cheongna Robot Land Robot Tower.


At the event, Incheon City held a policy announcement and MOU signing ceremony for the innovation-driven growth of the robot industry, unveiling its vision for "Robot City Incheon," where people and robots coexist, and setting a goal to expand the robot industry to over 3 trillion won plus alpha by 2030.


To achieve this, Incheon City signed a "Business Agreement for the Promotion and Development of the Robot Industry" with 13 organizations and companies-including Incheon Urban Development Corporation, Incheon Technopark, Incheon National University, Inha University, Nau Robotics, Brills, Yujin Robot, and Tesolo-at the Cheongna International City Robot Land Robot Tower.


Nau Robotics signed the business agreement at the request of Incheon City to foster and develop the robot industry. Incheon City requested the agreement with Nau Robotics with the aim of developing the robot industry into a future-oriented sector with global competitiveness.


The 13 organizations and companies agreed to cooperate in establishing an industry-academia-research-government collaboration system, strengthening support for innovative growth of robotics companies, nurturing specialized talent and enhancing job competencies, and supporting the use of testing, certification, and research equipment.


Incheon City hosted the policy announcement event to lay the foundation for expanding the robot industry ecosystem and establishing innovation hubs. The event was attended by over 100 participants, including local robotics companies, related organizations, universities, research institutes, and relevant associations, as part of Incheon’s efforts to become a leading region in the robot industry.


On this day, Incheon City announced its goal to grow the robot industry to over 3 trillion won by 2030. To this end, the city plans to invest 10 billion won over the next five years to support robotics companies.


In addition, the city aims to expand the adoption of robots not only in manufacturing and logistics but also in various areas such as daily life, leisure, and safety. Through citizen-focused projects, Incheon plans to improve the residential environment and quality of life, with the ultimate goal of creating an AI-powered robot city that citizens can experience in their everyday lives.


During his keynote address, Ha Byungpil, Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Incheon, declared, "In an era where robots drive industries and technology transforms lives, Incheon will lead this change," announcing a leap toward the "3 Trillion Won Robot Industry Era by 2030."


Vice Mayor Ha also stated, "With this policy announcement as a turning point, Incheon will enhance productivity and competitiveness across all industries, realize a city where people and robots grow together, and establish Incheon as a globally recognized robotics hub."


The event began with Vice Mayor Ha delivering the policy announcement. The parties to the business agreement include Incheon Metropolitan City, Incheon Urban Development Corporation, Incheon Technopark, Incheon National University, Inha University, Korea Radio Promotion Association, Korea Testing & Research Institute for Chemical Convergence, Nau Robotics, Brills, SPG, Uil Robotics, Yujin Robot, and Tesolo.


At the event, Nau Robotics showcased its multi-joint robot, the NURO X Series, which incorporates AI technology. The technological prowess of Nau Robotics’ AI has been recognized to the extent that it has been invited to the 2025 APEC event.


Nau Robotics is a rapidly growing domestic robotics company specializing in industrial automation and autonomous logistics robots. The company provides total robotics solutions, including the Cartesian robot NURO, the multi-joint robot NURO X, the SCARA robot NUCA, and the autonomous logistics robot NUGO, along with other industrial and autonomous logistics robots.


Since its listing on KOSDAQ in May, Nau Robotics has been advancing its production infrastructure to build a second factory and respond to large-scale projects. Recently, it has also expanded its business scope to include the development of ultra-large multi-joint robots, hybrid collaborative robots, and industrial humanoid robots.


Lee Jongju, CEO of Nau Robotics, stated, "Through this business agreement, we will help Incheon’s robot industry gain global competitiveness," adding, "Nau Robotics will continue to grow as a globally competitive robotics company."
