BISTEP and Korea Maritime and Ocean University Sign Agreement to Strengthen Competitiveness in Next-Generation Marine Mobility

The Busan Institute for Science, Technology and Education Promotion (BISTEP) and the Regional Innovation Artificial Intelligence Convergence Research Center at Korea Maritime and Ocean University have joined forces to strengthen the competitiveness of the next-generation marine mobility industry.


On the 23rd, BISTEP announced that it had signed a "business agreement for innovation in the next-generation marine mobility industry" with the Regional Innovation Artificial Intelligence Convergence Research Center at Korea Maritime and Ocean University at the BEXCO Convention Hall.

This agreement aims to strengthen the ecosystem of industry-academia-research cooperation in areas such as research and development in marine mobility, training of professionals, and joint use of infrastructure. The two institutions will collaborate in various areas, including ▲ nurturing and job placement of talent tailored to industrial needs ▲ developing core technologies based on national strategic technologies such as AI and big data ▲ sharing and joint utilization of achievements.


The two organizations expect that focusing on advanced marine mobility technologies will produce tangible results for the sustainable growth of the regional industry and the creation of jobs for young people.


BISTEP Director Chae Junwon said, "This agreement is a new cooperation model to lay the foundation for the future growth of the marine mobility industry," adding, "By combining the technological capabilities and networks of both institutions, we will create a foundation for local youth to grow in the field."
