A "KIOST Special Retrospective Exhibition" was also organized, inviting former directors to highlight the institute's 52-year history of progress. Through these events, participants revisited KIOST's legacy and traditions spanning over half a century and shared a vision for the future of marine science.

In addition, awards were presented to external contributors who supported the institute's development, and a "Retirement Ceremony" was held to honor employees reaching retirement age for their dedicated service.

In his commemorative speech, Director Lee Heeseung stated, "KIOST has grown into a world-class research institute thanks to the unwavering dedication and efforts of our predecessors, combined with the continuous challenges undertaken by all members. Moving forward, we will continue to lead the future of Korea as a maritime powerhouse with research outcomes that earn the trust of both the public and the world."
