Suwon Nambu Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province has urged the public to follow safety rules for autumn hiking.
Suwon Nambu Fire Station emphasized the following basic safety guidelines for hiking: thoroughly preparing hiking gear, checking weather and sunset information, staying on designated trails, and noting mountain location signposts and national identification numbers.

Ko Youngju, Chief of Suwon Nambu Fire Station, stated, "As the number of autumn hikers surges, the risk of mountain accidents also rises. In order to fully enjoy the autumn foliage, it is essential to prepare thoroughly before hiking and to follow safety guidelines."
According to the National Fire Agency, the number of mountain rescue incidents increased from September last year, reaching 8,706 cases during the two months of September and October, which accounted for 26% of the annual total. In particular, accidents caused by slipping (2,849 cases) were the most common, followed by getting lost (2,697 cases) and injuries from accidents (1,833 cases).
