Since 2021, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has annually selected companies possessing key strategic technologies in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors with global competitiveness as "Top Companies" in these fields.
Through its new additive technology, Enchem has enhanced the charging and discharging efficiency of electric vehicle batteries and contributed to extending driving range. Especially as the global energy storage system (ESS) market is growing at an average annual rate of over 11 percent, the company’s technological competitiveness in meeting the rising demand for high-performance additives is drawing attention.
Currently, more than 80 percent of the electrolyte additive market relies on products from China and Japan, making localization an urgent issue. By commercializing high-performance electrolyte additives, Enchem has secured competitiveness in the secondary battery sector and established a foundation for expanding its global market share. Enchem is conducting joint research with clients to meet the specific requirements of each leading global battery manufacturer. The company plans to secure next-generation electrolyte technologies tailored to customer needs, including electrolytes for high-middle nickel high-voltage batteries, lithium manganese rich (LMR) batteries, and silicon anode materials.
Oh Jungkang, CEO of Enchem, stated, "Recently, Enchem’s high-voltage electrolyte additive technology for lithium-ion batteries was recognized as a national strategic technology, and being selected as a Top Company brings a great sense of responsibility. We will take the lead in revitalizing the industrial ecosystem by strengthening cooperation with domestic battery manufacturers through the development of new additives."
