KORAIL Launches "Rail Delivery" Service at 13 Major Stations Nationwide

The Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on October 29 that it will operate the "Rail Delivery" service at 13 major train stations nationwide.


The Rail Delivery service will be available starting October 30 at KTX stations such as Seoul, Yongsan, Cheongnyangni, Daejeon, Dongdaegu, Busan, Jeonju, Yeosu Expo, and Gangneung, as well as at metropolitan subway stations including Sindorim, Gasan Digital Complex, Noryangjin, and Hoegi.

Users can register for the service via the mobile apps "Korail Talk" or "Lotte Delivery." After registration, users can utilize the service by submitting their parcels at the unmanned parcel dispatch boxes installed in the station waiting rooms.


The fee is set at 2,500 won for all regions except Jeju Island and remote or mountainous areas, which are subject to additional charges. The Rail Delivery service offers the convenience of easy use during commuting hours, centered around railway stations. It is also suitable for sending local specialties or souvenirs purchased during travel by parcel.


However, the size of parcels that can be sent via Rail Delivery is limited to a maximum width of 40 cm, length of 40 cm, height of 20 cm, and a weight of up to 5 kg.


Jung Jungrae, Acting President of KORAIL, stated, "Rail Delivery is a newly introduced lifestyle logistics service as part of the government's initiative to improve public-facing services. KORAIL will strive to expand practical, everyday public services that people can truly experience by leveraging our railway infrastructure."
