November 5 at Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju
The Korea Electrical Engineers Association will hold the 45th Power Policy Forum on November 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju, under the theme "Current Issues and Future Tasks for Building an Energy Expressway."
This forum is a public conference held during the "BIXPO 2025" event, which runs from November 5 to 7, 2025. It will bring together stakeholders from the power industry and academia to explore the future direction of the power grid.
The forum will consist of two presentations and a panel discussion.
In the first presentation, Professor Yoon Minhan of Kwangwoon University will deliver a talk on "Paradigm Shift in Power Grids: The Energy Expressway." This will be followed by Professor Baek Okseon of Pusan National University, who will address "Legal Issues and Challenges in Building the Energy Expressway."
During the subsequent panel discussion, Professor Cho Hongjong of Dankook University will serve as moderator. Other participants will include Oh Hyunjin, Head of Power System Planning at Korea Electric Power Corporation; Baek Seungtaek, Head of Energy DX Business Division at LS Electric; Baek Kyungdong, Director of Energy Policy at Jeollanam-do; and Seo Heewon, Head of Policy Research at the Climate Change Center. These experts will share opinions on challenges and cooperation strategies from policy and industry perspectives.
A representative from the Korea Electrical Engineers Association stated, "We hope this forum will present concrete directions and implementation strategies for the successful construction of the energy expressway," adding, "We expect this to be an opportunity for industry and government to cooperate and effectively respond to the expansion of renewable energy and the increase in power demand."
