Support Message Delivered Through Calligraphy
Wando County in South Jeolla Province announced on October 29 that it held a performance wishing for the successful hosting of the '2026 Pre Wando International Seaweed Expo' at the Beach Park on October 26, the final day of the 'Clean Wando Autumn Island Trip' event.
According to the county, the performance involved calligraphically writing the phrase, "When it comes to seaweed and abalone, it's Wando! We wish for the successful hosting of the 2026 Pre Wando International Seaweed Expo!" as a way to express hopes for the expo's success.

On stage, Wando Deputy Governor Lee Beomwoo, Wando County Council members Choi Junguk and Ji Min, and local children joined together to deliver messages of support. The completed calligraphy was revealed amid applause from the audience. After the performance, members of the expo organizing committee and distinguished guests gathered on stage and chanted for the successful hosting of the expo, reaffirming their commitment.
The '2026 Pre Wando International Seaweed Expo' will be held from May 2 to 7 next year for six days at the Beach Park area, featuring Wando's signature marine resources, seaweed and abalone, as its main themes. During the event, a variety of programs will be organized to share the future vision of the seaweed industry, including an international symposium and export consultation meetings.
A county official said, "It was a meaningful time where everyone came together with one heart to wish for the expo's success," and added, "We will do our utmost to promote the value of seaweed and raise Wando's profile."
