The prestigious international conference 'CAOS Asia-Pacific 2025', which shares the latest insights in the field of computer-assisted orthopedic surgery, was held successfully at the Catholic University of Korea in Seoul on October 24 and 25, 2025. At the event, the AI-based surgical planning technology developed by SKYVE Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Kyungtak) drew significant attention.
At this conference, hosted by the Korean Society of Orthopedic Computer Surgery, SKYVE presented its innovative research achievements on October 24 under the theme of "AI-Based Joint Replacement Surgical Planning."
This technology is an integrated solution that automatically analyzes a patient's MRI images using AI prior to joint replacement surgery, generates a 3D model, and detects anatomical landmarks required for surgical planning. As a result, it has maximized efficiency in clinical settings by reducing the manual process, which previously took over an hour, to less than 25 seconds.
Furthermore, even in complex cases involving bone edema, the technology minimizes 3D model errors, ensuring precision in surgical planning. The precise 3D surgical plans generated by SKYVE's technology are widely utilized for patient-specific surgical guides (PSI), navigation, and robotic surgery.
SKYVE has won the "Korea Excellent Patent Award" five times since 2017, including for its patent related to the "Femur Size Measuring Device" in 2024. The company has also obtained certifications from both the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in Korea and the U.S. FDA, and its solutions are widely used at major university hospitals in Korea, including Samsung Medical Center and Severance Hospital.
Kang Kyungtak, CEO of SKYVE, stated, "This presentation is the culmination of SKYVE's AI technology and represents a core technology that will drive digital innovation in the field of joint replacement surgery. Moving forward, we will continue to integrate AI, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) technologies into clinical practice to enhance surgical accuracy and patient satisfaction, and to lead the global market."
