Five Delegates Visit
Examining K-Content Monitoring and Blocking System
The Brazilian government has sent a delegation to learn about Korea's copyright protection system.
The Copyright Protection Agency of Korea announced on the 29th that five representatives from the Brazilian National Film Agency and the Pay TV Association visited the agency. The purpose of the visit was to examine the copyright protection system for K-content, the online monitoring and access-blocking system, as well as digital forensics support.
The Brazilian National Film Agency, a regulatory body under the Ministry of Culture, is responsible for cracking down on and responding to illegal copying. Recently, it has been working to strengthen its response capabilities by holding an event on "Preventing Digital Media Piracy."
The delegation observed the procedures for using hard disk and mobile phone analysis equipment, as well as forensic tools, at the Digital Forensics Center. Leandro Mendes, Director of Regulation at the Brazilian National Film Agency, remarked, "Korea's one-stop response system, which covers everything from illegal detection to deletion and blocking, is impressive."
Last year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea and the Ministry of Culture of Brazil signed an agreement on copyright exchange and cooperation.
