Gyeryong City in South Chungcheong Province has unveiled a new healing destination that adds a sense of relaxation to citizens' daily routines. The "Barefoot Path," created in an unused area within Geumam Waterfront Park, officially opened with a barefoot experience event attended by both citizens and public officials.

On the 29th, Gyeryong City announced that it had established a Barefoot Path approximately 75 meters long at Geumam Waterfront Park (140-1 Geumam-dong) and held an opening ceremony on the 28th.

This project was launched to provide a relaxing space where citizens can connect with nature and take care of their health even within the city.

The Barefoot Path is designed to promote blood circulation and relieve fatigue by using a variety of natural materials, including loess, loess balls, and red mica.

Convenience facilities such as a foot-washing station and seating walls have also been installed to allow visitors to rest comfortably.

In addition, over 1,500 landscaping trees-including Miss Kim Lilac, Flowering Dogwood, Katsura Tree, and Emerald Green Arborvitae-have been planted, offering different scenery with each season.

Along the walking trail, fragrant flowers and trees blend together, transforming the entire Geumam Waterfront Park into a more vibrant and lively space.

Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "Through this project, Geumam Waterfront Park, along with Saeteosan and the Dugyecheon Loess Trail, will become a popular nature-friendly healing spot for citizens. I hope everyone can enjoy both the beauty of nature and good health in their daily lives."

Meanwhile, the city plans to continue expanding green spaces in daily life-starting with the Barefoot Path, followed by improvements to waterfront trail lighting and the creation of resident-participatory flower paths-to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
