Gochang County to Hold the 3rd Gochang Healing Culture Festival on October 29

Theme: "Earth, Sound, Color, Grain: Connecting Tradition and Healing"

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province will hold the 3rd Gochang Healing Culture Festival from October 29 to November 2 at the Traditional Arts Experience Village and surrounding areas.

According to the county, this festival, organized by the Gochang Cultural City Center, is themed "Earth, Sound, Color, Grain: Connecting Tradition and Healing." A total of 13 healing culture programs, including aromatherapy and cypress woodcraft experiences, will be offered free of charge.

On the opening day, October 29, the festival will kick off with an opening performance, followed by a variety of participatory programs for families, such as a traditional rice cake making contest and a treasure hunt featuring seven hidden items.

In addition, there will be a traditional tightrope performance, and a tavern will operate to provide free snacks and beverages to festival participants, offering visitors a warm and enjoyable break.

Lee Moonsik, head of the center, said, "I hope this festival, which brings together the nature and traditions of Gochang, will be a time to heal both body and mind," adding, "We will continue to develop this event into a sustainable cultural festival together with local residents."

Meanwhile, the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, led by Executive Director Cho Changhwan, is actively conducting resident-participatory programs based on healing culture as part of the legally designated cultural city project, and is carrying out various activities to enhance the identity and sustainability of Gochang as a healing culture city.
