Hamyang County Holds Appointment Ceremony and Safety Training for New Safety Security Officers

Establishing a Regional Safety System Through Safety Training
Strengthening the Community Safety Network by Reorganizing Safety Security Officers

Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 29th that it had appointed 25 new safety security officers and conducted safety training in the county office's small conference room.

The safety security officer system was introduced to address manpower and time limitations that can arise from government-led crackdowns and inspections, and to promote citizen-led reporting and inspections. Their main role is to identify and report potential hazards in daily life, primarily through the Safety Report Center.

This appointment ceremony was held to reorganize the Hamyang County safety security officer team, which had not been active for some time, and to recruit new officers from among residents with a strong interest in community safety.

The newly appointed safety security officers will be responsible for proactively identifying hazards within the community, responding quickly in the event of a disaster, and providing residents with essential safety information.

Before being deployed in the field, these safety security officers received various types of training, including how to join and use the Safety Report Center, reporting procedures, seasonal safety prevention, and sexual crime prevention education. The training focused on enhancing their ability to respond quickly and effectively in real-life situations.

County Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "I hope that the safety security officers will serve as the eyes and ears of our citizens, alerting us to risks in advance and becoming Hamyang's safety guardians," adding, "Let us work together, both the public and private sectors, to make Hamyang a safe city where residents can feel secure."

Meanwhile, the safety security officers are expected to work in cooperation with the county in the future, participating in safety-related campaigns and promotional activities. They are anticipated to play a key role in raising safety awareness among local residents and improving practical disaster response capabilities.
