"Enhanced Understanding of Busan Industries"... Silla University Offers International Students Hands-On Industry Experience

Silla University is accelerating its efforts to nurture global talent by conducting a hands-on fieldwork experience program for international students, allowing them to directly visit industrial sites in the Busan area.

The Silla University RISE Project Group held the "Fieldwork Experience Program for International Students for Fostering Industry-Linked Talent in Busan" at the Daesun Brewery Gijang Factory in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, on October 27.

More than 50 international students from the College of International Studies participated, gaining firsthand experience of the history, technology, and cultural value of local industries.

In the morning session, a foreign alumnus who graduated from Silla University and is currently working at a company in Busan gave a lecture, sharing insights about the job search process and adapting to Korean society. He emphasized, "The most important aspect of performing one's duties is communication within the organization and understanding the culture," and advised, "For international students, learning not only the language but also the workplace culture becomes a significant competitive advantage."

In the afternoon, participants toured the Daesun Brewery production line, experiencing the technological capabilities of Busan's manufacturing industry. They observed the entire process from raw material input to fermentation, filtration, bottling, and packaging, and learned about on-site systems such as automation equipment and quality control frameworks.

Tao Tithanhai, a sophomore in the Department of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering at Silla University, said, "I was able to see how the production management concepts learned in the classroom actually work in the field," adding, "I want to gain experience by working at a company in Busan."

Hwang Inju, Head of the Silla University RISE Project Group, stated, "This program has provided international students with an opportunity to understand the structure of local industries and broaden their foundation for settling in the region. We will continue to work with the Busan Metropolitan Government to foster industry-tailored global talent."

Building on this program, Silla University plans to institutionalize industry-linked education for international students and expand collaboration with local companies. The university aims to establish a global talent development system that connects industry, education, and employment, thereby supporting the internationalization of Busan's economy.
