According to JTBC's 'Incident Commander' on the 27th, her husband, Mr. B, said, "When we first arrived at the hospital, they said her chances of survival were very low, but now, miraculously, she has opened her eyes." He recounted that during a visit on the 24th, he called his wife's name and mentioned their children's names. In response, Ms. A blinked, shed tears, opened her eyes, and briefly looked at him.

However, she has not yet fully regained consciousness. Mr. B said, "Many more miracles are still needed, but I am grateful just that she is alive."

According to the Yeonsu Police Station in Incheon, the accident occurred at around 4:37 p.m. on the 18th on a sidewalk in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. At the time, two middle school students were riding together on a single electric scooter and collided with Ms. A, who was walking on the sidewalk. As the scooter, which did not slow down, sped toward them, Ms. A shielded her two-year-old daughter who was beside her. In the process, she was struck by the scooter, hit her head on the ground, and fell into critical condition.

Ms. A has since been diagnosed with multiple skull fractures and swelling throughout her brain. She was immediately transported to the hospital after the accident, underwent emergency surgery, and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

The middle school students who struck Ms. A with the electric scooter are subject to criminal charges, as they are not under the age of 14. They have been booked by the police and are under investigation for causing injury under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and for unlicensed driving under the Road Traffic Act.

It was found that they violated various traffic regulations related to riding electric scooters, including riding without a motorized vehicle license, not wearing safety helmets, and riding with two people on one scooter.

Mr. B said, "On the day of the accident, I received a text message from the parents of the students responsible, saying 'We're sorry,'" adding, "I'm still not ready to see them yet."
