This is the first time Gimpo City is hosting a nationwide robotics-themed competition. Through this event, the city aims to raise its profile and strengthen its position in both education and industry related to artificial intelligence and software.
This event, part of the Education Development Special Zone initiative, is co-hosted by Gimpo City and Yonsei University. Students wishing to participate in the competition can apply by scanning the QR code on the poster. Elementary school students in grades 4 to 6 can form teams of 2 to 4 members, while middle and high school students should form teams of 2. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants will receive commemorative gifts, and awards and prizes will be given to nine teams with outstanding results in the competition.
Additionally, there will be AI·SW experience booths for the general public. Anyone, regardless of age, can participate in these booths without prior reservation and experience them on-site. The event will feature a variety of experience booths, including robot soccer and robot bowling, providing both participants and general visitors with opportunities to experience the AI·SW industry.
As the event is co-hosted and organized by the Yonsei University SW-Centered University Project Group (Director: Cha Hojung), there will also be career and academic mentoring booths for local middle and high school students. These mentoring booths will accept both pre-registrations and on-site registrations from local students. For on-site registration, any middle or high school student, regardless of location, can receive career and academic mentoring.
Gimpo City plans to continue developing and operating a variety of educational programs tailored to the evolving high-tech industrial environment, and will consistently support Gimpo students to help them become talents suited for the future.
