Goseong County in Gangwon Province (Governor Ham Myeongjun) has expanded opportunities for residents to participate by switching the recruitment for the Community Social Service Investment Project from the previous biannual schedule to ongoing, year-round applications.
The Community Social Service Investment Project aims to improve the quality of life for county residents and vitalize the social service market by providing customized social services tailored to local characteristics and resident needs.
Specific services promoted by Goseong County include the Gangwon Happy Children and Youth Psychological Support Service, Gangwon Happy Resident Psychological Support Service, Gangwon Health Massage Service, and Assistive Device Rental Service for People with Disabilities.
Recipients are selected based on criteria such as age, needs, and income for each service, with a standard service provision period of 12 months.
Residents wishing to use the services should prepare the required documents for each service, such as an ID card and health insurance eligibility certificate, and apply at their local township or town administrative welfare center by the 25th of each month.
Government subsidies are provided through the National Happiness Card, while personal contributions are paid directly to the service provider. The National Happiness Card can also be issued at the time of application.
A county official stated, "We hope that more residents will be able to benefit from a variety of social services through ongoing, year-round recruitment," adding, "We will do our best to provide tailored services to enhance residents' sense of welfare."
