Kwak Nakyoung of Daegu Namgu District Shooting Team Honored with Final Selection to National Team

Daegu Namgu District Office (Mayor Jo Jaegu) announced on October 27 that Kwak Nakyoung, a member of the Namgu shooting team, has been honored with her final selection as a member of the South Korean national shooting team for 2026.

Kwak Nakyoung demonstrated her outstanding performance by winning consecutive titles in the women's 25m pistol individual event at both the 5th General Hong Beomdo Cup and the 34th National Police Agency Shooting Championships last year, ultimately earning her qualification as a national team member for 2026.

Starting in 2026, she will represent South Korea in international competitions such as the World Shooting Championships, and will join the Jincheon National Training Center for intensive training.

Park Eunyoung, coach of the Namgu District Office shooting team, stated, "I am extremely proud that Kwak Nakyoung's unwavering dedication to training has resulted in her selection for the national team," and added, "We will continue to support her so she can compete with confidence in the upcoming National Sports Festival and international competitions."

Kwak Nakyoung said, "It is a great honor to be selected as a national representative under the name of Namgu District Office," and added, "I will do my best to live up to the responsibility of being a national team member and to enhance the pride of both South Korea and Namgu."

Jo Jaegu, Mayor of Daegu Namgu District Office, commented, "Kwak Nakyoung's selection for the national team is a valuable achievement made possible by the dedication and passion of the entire team," and continued, "We will continue to provide administrative and financial support to ensure that Namgu sports can make even greater strides in the future."
