Enhanced Accessibility for the Digitally Disadvantaged
Creating an Unmanned Payment Environment for All
Through AI and UI/UX Technologies
Nexpa System Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Wongab), a company specializing in video analysis-based smart parking management and parking guidance solutions, has officially launched its AI-powered "Barrier-Free Unmanned Parking Payment Machine" (model name: NPP-BFAPS-H215). This new barrier-free product has obtained certification as a "Priority Purchase Target Intelligent Information Product (NIA No. 2025-72)" and is drawing attention as a diversified competitor in both the public and private sectors, focusing on accessibility in unmanned parking payment systems.
The barrier-free unmanned payment machine released by Nexpa System maximizes ease of use for digitally disadvantaged individuals (such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and wheelchair users). By utilizing AI-based video recognition technology and an enhanced UI/UX user-centered design, the company has addressed the inconveniences of existing unmanned payment machines, creating an environment that anyone can use with ease.
Key features include voice guidance and a large, high-contrast display, allowing users with visual impairments to receive clear voice instructions and vivid visual information for improved visibility. To address the inconvenience of touch controls, the device is equipped with a physical keypad and braille guides. In addition, for wheelchair users, the machine is designed to be accessible at the appropriate eye level, and the fixed smart card reader automatically moves toward the user to enhance payment convenience. This feature is evaluated as the first in the industry to significantly improve user-friendly convenience.
The newly launched barrier-free product was developed in anticipation of the "Mandatory Accessibility for Unmanned Information Terminals (Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities)," which will take effect on January 28, 2026. With a modular structure, it can be easily integrated and interconnected with existing parking systems, making it a practical solution for both public institutions and private parking operators to meet legal requirements without additional operational costs.
Lee Wongab, CEO of Nexpa System, stated, "Existing unmanned parking payment machines have had limitations in accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly," adding, "With this new product, we have integrated AI and UI/UX technologies to deliver a truly 'unmanned and contactless payment environment.'"
He further emphasized, "With the launch of this barrier-free unmanned parking payment machine, we are realizing our corporate philosophy of 'technology for all' beyond mere technological innovation," and added, "We will continue to lead the creation of smart urban environments where everyone can access services without discrimination through AI and UI/UX technologies."
