Strengthening Safety Management at the International Passenger Terminal Ahead of the APEC Summit
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) has signed a "Cooperation Agreement for Counterterrorism and Accident Prevention" with the Busan Dongbu Police Station.
This agreement was established in anticipation of a significant increase in foreign visitors to the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal ahead of major international events such as the 2025 APEC Summit. Its aim is to strengthen the prevention of terrorism and crime, as well as the safety management system at multi-use facilities.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to promote cooperative initiatives for the safety of the port and the local community, including: ▲ prevention of accidents during large-scale events, ▲ improvement and management of security facilities inside and outside the International Passenger Terminal, and ▲ crime prevention awareness campaigns.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "We will strengthen our cooperation system with the police to ensure the safety of multi-use facilities frequently visited by citizens, such as the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal and BPEX," adding, "With the understanding that public safety is directly linked to the competitiveness of the port, we will continue to pursue field-oriented safety management."
