Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on October 27 that it signed a residential support business agreement with Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) on October 20 to promote housing stability for young people and expand the city’s resident population through the 'Pocheon Cheongpodo Youth Housing (Youth Purchase-Lease Housing)' project.

The 'Cheongpodo Youth Housing' project, which means 'Youth, Take Off in Pocheon,' aims not only to support young residents of Pocheon but also to actively attract young people who currently live elsewhere but are working or starting businesses in Pocheon, encouraging them to settle in the region.

Under the agreement, LH will be responsible for contract signing, housing operation, and management, while Pocheon City will handle resident recruitment, selection, and administrative support. Through this cooperation with LH, the city plans to provide high-quality housing at rental rates set at 40-50% of market prices, creating an environment where young people can maintain stable lives and jobs based on secure housing.

The supplied housing units consist of 24 apartments in 'Pocheon Herisent' located in Sineup-dong, Pocheon City, and are equipped with essential home appliances and furniture, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and microwave ovens. The initial lease period is two years, and residents who continue to meet the eligibility requirements may stay for up to ten years.

Youth who wish to apply for residency should check the announcement posted on the Pocheon City Hall website on October 27, and then submit their application with the required documents at the Civil Consultation Room on the first floor of the new building of Pocheon City Hall from November 10 to 12.

A Pocheon City official stated, "We hope that Cheongpodo Youth Housing will serve as a stepping stone for new opportunities for young people and bring youthful energy to Pocheon," adding, "We will continue to provide various forms of housing support so that young people can settle stably in Pocheon and pursue their hopeful dreams."
