Goryeong County Launches "Four Major Cultural Movements to Overcome Low Birthrate Burdens"

Senior Public Officials Lead the Initiative to Improve Cultural Practices in Marriage, Childbirth, Childcare, and Work-Life Balance

Goryeong County, led by County Governor Lee Namcheol, announced on October 27 that it has prioritized the "Four Major Cultural Movements to Overcome Low Birthrate Burdens," focusing on senior public officials, to improve awareness of low birthrate issues and reduce social burdens related to marriage, childbirth, and childcare.

This campaign was attended by County Governor Lee Namcheol, the Deputy Governor, department heads, and heads of towns and townships. They held a signing ceremony to participate in the Four Major Cultural Movements, which emphasize the core values of "burden-free marriage, happy childbirth, enjoyable childcare, and a flexible work-life balance."

The Four Major Cultural Movements campaign aims to improve conventional cultural practices that create burdens in marriage, childbirth, childcare, and work-life balance. It is being promoted with the intention of encouraging both Goryeong County and the local community to achieve institutional and cultural transformation together.

Lee Namcheol, Governor of Goryeong County, stated, "The low birthrate issue cannot be solved by policies that simply encourage childbirth; a shift in society-wide perceptions must occur at the same time. Senior public officials will take the lead, and we will strive to spread this into a culture where all residents can participate together."
