Daegu City and Dalseo-gu, Daegu, are hosting the "2025 Duryeo Jeolmko Festival, Jeolmko Fantasy Way" for two days from October 25 to 26, aiming to revitalize the stagnant commercial district and attract customers of various age groups. This festival is being held in cooperation with Dalseo-gu, taking place at Duryeo Youth Square, Duryeo Food Street, Duryeo No.1 Underground Shopping Center, Sinnaedang Market, and several shopping areas.

Duryeo Jeolmko refers to the commercial district surrounding Gwangjang Core in Duryeo-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, and carries the meaning of "Core of Youth."

At the opening ceremony, Hong Seongju, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, stated in his congratulatory remarks, "Duryeo Jeolmko is establishing itself as a complex cultural district where citizens can enjoy and linger, going beyond a simple commercial space," and added, "I hope this festival will further energize Duryeo Jeolmko."

This festival, organized by Daegu City and Dalseo-gu, Daegu, features participatory content prepared jointly by merchants and local residents. Various attractions and activities are offered, including a cosplay contest and street parade, busking performances, hands-on programs, exhibitions and book concerts, and a flea market.

The cosplay contest, which received a great response last year, has been expanded in both scale and content this year. The event begins with a parade throughout the commercial district, followed by preliminary and final rounds. The vibrant costumes and unique performances of the participants are turning the entire district into a festive atmosphere.

Dalseo-gu, Daegu, has been implementing the "Duryeo Jeolmko Commercial District Revitalization Project" from 2023 to 2027, investing a total of 8 billion won over five years. This project aims to integrate and foster five commercial areas-including Duryeo Youth Street, Duryeo Food Street, Sinnaedang Market, and Duryeo No.1 Underground Shopping Center-transforming them into a leading regional commercial district.
