On the 25th, a floor official from the Democratic Party of Korea stated that the party would accept the People Power Party's proposal for a parliamentary investigation into the Jeju Air disaster, noting that there were no disagreements between the parties on this matter. As a result, the request for a parliamentary investigation is expected to be reported at the National Assembly plenary session on the 26th.

Once the request for a parliamentary investigation is submitted, the Speaker of the National Assembly will consult with the leaders of each negotiation group to form a special committee or designate a relevant standing committee as the "investigation committee."

On the 21st, the People Power Party submitted, as its official party position, a request for a parliamentary investigation into both the cause of the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) and the truth behind the December 29 Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. The Democratic Party accepted the parliamentary investigation into the Jeju Air disaster but stated that the investigation into the NIRS fire should undergo further discussion within the relevant standing committee, the Public Administration and Security Committee.

At the plenary session on the 26th, the National Assembly plans to put a total of 75 bills to a vote, including 70 livelihood-related bills agreed upon by both parties. The People Power Party has decided to hold objection debates on bills that have not been agreed upon.

On December 29 last year, at around 9:03 a.m., Jeju Air flight 7C2216, which had departed from Bangkok, Thailand, crash-landed at Muan International Airport and collided with the azimuth facility (localizer), resulting in the deaths of 179 people.

The families of the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster have filed a lawsuit against Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer. Through their legal representative, they claimed in the complaint that "a fatal defect in the outdated landing system prevented the pilots from landing the aircraft safely." The complaint stated that the electrical and hydraulic systems of the aircraft involved in the accident were based on an outdated design from 1958, which revealed fatal flaws during the landing process, and that the pilots failed to resolve these issues, resulting in the unsuccessful landing.
