Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province held the "20th Childcare Week Event" from October 24 to 25, with over 4,000 participants including local infants, toddlers, and childcare staff.

During this event, Mayor Bang Se-hwan of Gwangju City expressed deep gratitude for the dedication of childcare staff and strongly emphasized his commitment to improving working conditions at childcare sites.


At the commemorative ceremony, Mayor Bang stated, "I sincerely thank all the staff who always do their best to care for our children, even under difficult circumstances."


He went on to say, "When staff are happy, children can be even happier," and promised, "I will do my utmost to create a happy workplace where staff can thrive, and to build Gwangju into a hopeful and happy city where positive change begins."


This clearly indicates that Gwangju City has made improving the treatment and working environment of childcare staff a key priority in municipal administration.


Shin Yuri, President of the Gwangju City Daycare Center Association, said, "I am grateful that the event concluded safely with the support of related organizations," and added, "We will continue to develop and provide programs that bring happiness to infants, parents, and childcare staff, striving to enhance the quality of childcare services."


This Childcare Week Event, hosted by Gwangju City and organized by the Gwangju City Daycare Center Association, featured a variety of programs including a childcare expo, a commemorative ceremony, and teacher training sessions.

The childcare expo, held at Opo Sports Park on the 25th, saw the participation of 11 related organizations such as the Parenting Support Center, Dream Start, and the Child Protection Agency. Through diverse programs including experience and education booths, playgrounds, VR experiences, and air bouncers, more than 3,000 infants and toddlers enjoyed and participated in a fun-filled day.


Gwangju City plans to continue focusing on fostering a nurturing environment that enhances the pride of childcare professionals and supports the healthy growth of infants and toddlers.
