Experiencing Pingmae Rock, Alpaca Feeding, and More

On October 23, Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that Hankook Han, who is currently serving as a World Peace Public Relations Ambassador, visited the 2025 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival venue, enjoyed the festival, and pledged to work even harder to promote Hwasun on the global stage.

According to the county on October 24, Hankook Han, a native of Cheongpung in Hwasun, is renowned for his unique Hangul calligraphy and world peace maps, and is actively engaged in artistic activities for world peace. He visited the county the previous day, met with County Governor Koo Bokkyu, and then toured the 2025 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival site, expressing his admiration for the event.

Han was particularly impressed by his visit to the bonsai exhibition in the Chunyang area, where he listened to explanations from guides. He encouraged the staff, stating, “The harmonious blend of dolmens and bonsai was truly impressive,” and demonstrated his deep interest by personally signing the guestbook.

Han also experienced attractions such as animatronic dinosaurs, Pingmae Rock, and alpaca feeding, and on his way back, enjoyed the local coal mine ice cream. He remarked, “It’s hard to believe a place like this exists in Hwasun. Although I live in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, and have seen many dolmen sites in other regions, this is the first time I’ve encountered such a densely clustered group of dolmens.”

He added, “To successfully develop the endless autumn flower fields, set against the backdrop of prehistoric dolmens and beautiful natural scenery, into a world-renowned festival destination, it is essential for the Hwasun Dolmen Site to be designated as a National Garden. As a native of Hwasun myself, I will do my part to support this effort.”

Meanwhile, Hankook Han’s recent activities as Hwasun County’s Public Relations Ambassador include participating in the KBS 80th Liberation Anniversary Campaign as a world peace artist and unveiling the commemorative work “2025 APEC, Promise of Peace” to wish for the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit, continuing his artistic endeavors for world peace.
