Another safety accident has occurred at the Gwangju Hwajeong I-Park construction site, where a previous collapse resulted in seven casualties. This time, a worker was injured.
According to the Gwangju Seobu Police Station on October 24, at around 1:50 p.m. the previous day, a worker in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, was pinned under a construction panel at the Hwajeong I-Park new construction site in Seo-gu.
It was found that Mr. A, who was responsible for transporting construction materials, was injured when the strap securing the panel on a cargo truck came loose.
As a result of the accident, Mr. A suffered a leg fracture. His life is not in danger.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether safety regulations were properly followed at the construction site.
Meanwhile, at this apartment construction site, which is being built by HDC Hyundai Development Company, a previous accident occurred on January 11, 2022, when the floors, ceilings, and internal and external structures from the 39th to the 23rd floors collapsed, resulting in the deaths of six workers and injuries to one.
