Youth Shelter Darak in Mokpo City, South Jeolla Province, successfully concluded its first large-scale event since opening, the "Darakdo Rakida" Local Creative Content Festival.
Mokpo City announced on the 23rd that about 200 participants, including local youth, representatives from social enterprises, and cultural and arts professionals, gathered at Darak for the event held on the 18th, creating a venue for youth cultural exchange.
This event was organized by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, the Work Together Foundation, and Korea Electric Power Corporation, and co-hosted by local social enterprises including Curere Co., Ltd., Expobi Co., Ltd., and Peak Very Much Co., Ltd. (Muan).
At the venue, a variety of experiential programs were offered, such as a local character exhibition and pop-up store, T-shirt making workshops, goods sales, and corn cream latte tasting. In addition, the outdoor stage featured diverse performances, including K-pop random play dance, a performance by the Jeogori Crew, and a DJing party, all of which received enthusiastic responses from the audience.
Notably, as the first large-scale event held since Darak opened, it demonstrated the potential of local content through collaboration among social enterprises and injected new vitality into the region's youth culture.
A city official stated, "Youth Shelter Darak is evolving beyond a simple resting space into a cultural hub where young people can enjoy and share culture," adding, "We hope this event will further invigorate the creative activities of local youth."
