Jeon Jonghyun, CEO of Team Monolith, expressed his ambition in a recent interview with The Asia Business Daily, stating, "We will develop Codle into an AI agent that is present at every educational moment."

Team Monolith operates Codle, an AI agent platform that automates classroom management, with CEO Jeon Jonghyun and CEO Eom Eunsang serving as co-CEOs. Currently, Codle is mainly used in educational institutions such as middle schools, high schools, and universities when teaching coding using programming languages like Scratch or Python. Typically, teaching with Python requires installing programming language packages and setting up an integrated development environment (IDE), but with Codle, simply logging in is enough to prepare the environment for class, eliminating these setup steps.


CEO Jeon described Codle as follows: "In traditional classrooms, teachers lecture while students just sit and listen. Codle is an AI agent that automates many of the tasks teachers need to prepare for class, allowing them to focus solely on student management."


AI is embedded throughout Codle's services. A representative feature is the 'AI Tutor,' which analyzes students' coding data and class context to provide personalized guidance. It can take a lot of time for teachers to individually tailor instruction to each student's level, but AI handles this task. Even if a student makes a coding error, the AI explains the cause and how to fix it in an easy-to-understand way. CEO Jeon explained, "Based on student data, the AI customizes the difficulty of explanations, provides relevant examples, and even adjusts its tone to suit each student."


Codle has grown rapidly and is now used in classes at more than 750 schools. Over 1,700 teachers have registered after completing staff verification. Given that there are about 3,000 information technology teachers nationwide, more than half have used Codle. Universities such as Korea University are also using Codle in required liberal arts courses for Python coding classes.

Codle is also actively expanding overseas. There is a growing trend in other countries to introduce AI agent services into public education at the national level. Currently, Codle is being marketed in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and some schools in the United Kingdom have adopted it as well. CEO Jeon said, "The UAE is so proactive about AI education that it has started a policy to make AI a required subject in all schools. Considering this environment, we believe Codle will be well received and are targeting these countries as key markets."


He added, "There are numerous areas in class preparation, delivery, and post-class assessment that can be automated with AI agents, so the potential directions for Codle are limitless. Education environments are often more complex than typical industrial sites, which means there are many areas where AI agents can provide support."
