The largest amateur eSports tournament in South Korea will be held in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi-do Sports Council announced on October 23 that it will host the 2025 Gyeonggi-do International eSports Festival at the Ichung Culture and Sports Center Gymnasium in Pyeongtaek on December 6.
This tournament will feature a program designed to foster mutual growth with the local community, making it a festival-style event that can be enjoyed by players, users, and citizens alike. The goal is to increase international exchanges among amateur players and raise awareness of local eSports.
The competition will include three team-based titles: League of Legends, Valorant, and Brawl Stars. The total prize pool is 43.6 million won, making it the largest among domestic amateur eSports tournaments. For League of Legends and Valorant, the first-place team will receive 10 million won, second place 5 million won, third place 2.5 million won, fourth place 1.5 million won, and fifth place 1 million won. For Brawl Stars, the first-place team will receive 1.5 million won, second place 900,000 won, and each of the two teams tied for third will receive 600,000 won. All prize money will be awarded on a team basis.
To enhance participant convenience, the preliminary rounds will be held over two weekend days per game title from November 22 to 30. For League of Legends and Valorant, the top four teams from the preliminaries will be joined by one invited overseas team to compete in a full league followed by the finals. Brawl Stars will be played in an eight-team single-elimination tournament.
Detailed eligibility requirements, regulations, and registration links can be found on the official information page and recruitment announcement. Applications can be submitted via the GGGL website until November 17.
A representative from the Gyeonggi-do Sports Council stated, "In addition to eSports, there will be celebratory performances and a variety of hands-on activities at the Ichung Culture and Sports Center Gymnasium in Pyeongtaek, so everyone will be able to have a great time."
