Myeong Taekyun appeared at the Seoul City government audit and criticized Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon, saying, "He is lying." On October 23, Myeong attended the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee as a witness regarding allegations that Mayor Oh's opinion poll expenses were paid by a third party. Mayor Oh refrained from making statements, citing the upcoming special prosecutor's face-to-face interrogation scheduled for next month, while Myeong repeatedly raised his voice during his answers and was admonished by committee members several times.

Before the main questioning began, Myeong stated, "The special prosecutor's office contacted me, and I will have a face-to-face interrogation with Mayor Oh Sehoon at the special prosecutor's office at 10 a.m. on November 8. Because of this, I ask for your understanding, lawmakers."

However, when Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Haesik asked how he first met Mayor Oh, Myeong directly criticized the mayor, saying, "When I attended an event hosted by former leader Kim Mooseong in Yeouido, former lawmaker Kim Youngsun tried to introduce me to Mayor Oh, but I said, 'I don't want to meet him because his face looks like a traitor.'" He added, "I was in prison, and Mayor Oh filed a complaint against me. Even now, I have never filed a single complaint against Mayor Oh Sehoon or Hong Joonpyo. We worked together and I helped him, but he went ahead and filed a complaint against me."

Regarding the allegations that Kim Hanjeong, who was the head of Mayor Oh's supporters' association, paid the opinion poll expenses on Oh's behalf, Myeong replied, "That is true." He explained, "Mayor Oh directly instructed that the opinion poll expenses be paid by someone else, and Kim Hanjeong covered about 33 million won."

Myeong showed several agitated responses during the Q&A session. When People Power Party lawmaker Ko Dongjin asked, "Weren't you effectively running the Future Korea Research Institute yourself?" Myeong raised his voice and said, "How would I know about someone else's company?" On this day, Shin Jeonghun, the chair of the Public Administration and Security Committee, issued multiple warnings to Myeong.

In contrast, Mayor Oh refrained from answering questions from Democratic Party lawmakers. He said, "I ask for your understanding that I have no other choice but to refrain from answering." Mayor Oh stated, "In May, I strongly requested a face-to-face interrogation with the prosecution, but it was not accepted. This time, the special prosecutor agreed. There are many things I want to clarify during the face-to-face interrogation. There is no reason for me to reveal my hand here."

Meanwhile, Mayor Oh will undergo a face-to-face interrogation with Myeong at the special prosecutor's office on November 8 regarding the allegations of third-party payment of opinion poll expenses. Mayor Oh's side confirmed the schedule for the face-to-face interrogation, stating, "Mayor Oh's legal team requested it from the special prosecutor's team on the 22nd, and it was arranged as a result."
