This agreement is the result of an initiative led by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province China Office to help Gangwon companies expand their market presence in China and establish inland footholds. It is especially significant as a successful case of building a mid- to long-term cooperative system between local companies and major Chinese distribution networks.

'Xinshangkang,' the largest imported food specialist company in Hubei Province, has participated in the Korean Food Promotion Event for five consecutive years.

Founded in 2003, Xinshangkang (XINSHANGGANG) is a leading imported food specialist company in China, headquartered in Hubei Province and operating throughout the Central China region, with over 80 partner companies and more than 50 distribution channels.

Xinshangkang handles food and consumer goods from countries around the world, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan. As of 2024, the company recorded annual sales of 360 million yuan (approximately 72 billion won).

In particular, Xinshangkang has participated in the Korean Food Promotion Event for five consecutive years (2021-2025), showing a keen interest in the quality and competitiveness of Gangwon products. This agreement (MOU) is the result of a long-standing relationship of trust developing into concrete business cooperation.

Gangwon Export Co., Ltd., a leading food export company representing Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, participated in this year’s Korean Food Promotion Event co-hosted by KOTRA Wuhan Trade Center and the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province China Office, showcasing Gangwon’s agricultural and marine processed products and receiving a strong response from local buyers.

During this process, intentions for long-term supply and distribution cooperation with Xinshangkang were solidified, and at the Export Boom Korea Week, a formal agreement was signed to supply products worth a total of 10 million dollars over the next 10 years.

Building on this agreement (MOU), Gangwon Export Co., Ltd. plans to carry out ongoing promotional events, enter online malls, and pursue joint marketing projects throughout Hubei Province and the entire Central China region.

A Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province official stated, "We will strengthen local network building and support for market development so that Gangwon companies can achieve tangible export results using the China Office as a base."
