This agreement was established to address the societal demand for responding to climate change and achieving carbon neutrality, as well as to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem. Through this agreement, the two organizations have decided to establish a system in which administration and academia work together organically, joining forces to create a truly carbon-neutral city.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲ policy advice and information exchange for realizing a city that adapts to climate change and achieves carbon neutrality; ▲ operation of human resource exchange programs such as field trips and internships at Busan Urban Corporation project sites; ▲ joint implementation of the capstone design curriculum in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Dong-A University. In addition, the two parties plan to continuously identify and promote various cooperative projects through mutual consultation in the future.
Lee Sangyong, Head of the Strategic Business Division at Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "This agreement is an important first step toward achieving our shared goals of carbon neutrality and building a future-oriented city. We will take a leading role in nurturing local talent and actively discover innovative public projects to improve the quality of life for citizens and contribute to sustainable urban development."
Busan Urban Corporation plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to expand a variety of practical projects aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
