Boram Hallelujah Table Tennis Team Achieves Silver in Individual and Bronze in Team Events at National Sports Festival

"Aiming for Victory on the 10th Anniversary in 2026"

Boram Group announced on October 23 that its professional table tennis team, Boram Hallelujah Table Tennis Team, won both the silver medal in the individual event and the bronze medal in the team event at the National Sports Festival.

At the 106th National Sports Festival held at Gijang Gymnasium in Busan, Boram Hallelujah's Jang Seongil won the silver medal in the men's general individual event. Jang advanced to the finals by defeating Cho Daeseong (Daegu) in the round of 16, Kim Minhyeok (Sejong) in the quarterfinals, and Kim Jangwon (Gyeongbuk) in the semifinals. In the final held on October 20, he engaged in a full-set match against Park Kyuhyeon (Chungnam), but lost 2-3 after a deuce in the last set, earning the silver medal.

In the team event, Jang Seongil, along with Park Kyungtae, Park Changgeon, Choi Inhyeok, and Jeong Younghoon, competed as representatives of Ulsan. Boram Hallelujah advanced to the semifinals by defeating strong teams such as Seoul City Hall and the Armed Forces Athletic Corps (Gyeongbuk), and concluded the tournament with a bronze medal.

This achievement is considered to have brought new energy not only to Boram Hallelujah but also to the Ulsan Sports Council and the Table Tennis Association, which are based in its home region. Since its establishment in 2016, Boram Hallelujah has continuously strengthened its roster and has shown growth in the domestic professional table tennis scene, including reaching the semifinals at last year's Aekyung Chemical National Table Tennis Championships.

Last year, Oh Gwangheon, who led the women's table tennis team at the Paris Olympics, was appointed as the team director, bringing new changes to overall team operations. Director Oh is focusing on further enhancing the team's competitiveness based on his extensive international experience and coaching expertise.

Boram Hallelujah is also taking the lead in various social contribution activities and promoting grassroots table tennis, including hosting talent donation events for table tennis enthusiasts.

Jang Seongil said, "It is a special feeling to reach the finals for the first time in nine years since Choi Wonjin won the gold medal at the National Sports Festival in 2017. Although the result is valuable, it is also somewhat disappointing, so I will use this experience as a stepping stone to challenge for victory in the next tournament."

Director Oh Gwangheon stated, "I applaud the players for their focus and fighting spirit in consecutively defeating strong teams. Building on this achievement, we will further strengthen our capabilities and create a new chapter in Boram Hallelujah's history by winning the championship on our 10th anniversary in 2026."
