Cheorwon County announced on the 23rd that the pilot operation of this project, which aims to boost stay-type tourism, is proceeding successfully.

Since September 26, Cheorwon County has been showcasing media art and day-and-night landscape lighting around Sambuyeon Waterfall and Oryong Cave, establishing them as new tourism content for both daytime and nighttime visitors. Notably, this project minimizes artificial structures and creates a media fa?ade by using Sambuyeon Waterfall-one of Cheorwon's nine scenic wonders-as a media screen, presenting a majestic and mysterious atmosphere that is distinct from the daytime.

The core theme of the media art is a modern reinterpretation of the Imugi legend associated with Sambuyeon Waterfall and the artwork of Jeong Seon, who famously painted the area. By combining these stories with light, the installation offers visitors an immersive cultural experience.

A Cheorwon County official stated, "The day-and-night landscapes and media art at Sambuyeon Waterfall and Oryong Cave will become symbolic landmarks of Cheorwon tourism. Building on the successful results of the pilot operation, we will further enrich the content to provide new inspiration for both domestic and international tourists and make a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy."

Additionally, Cheorwon County is currently promoting media fa?ade projects at Goseokjeong and the former North Korean Workers' Party Headquarters, planning to create synergy by linking them with the Ice Waterfall (Sambuyeon·Oryong Cave) project. Through these efforts, Cheorwon County has expressed its ambition to firmly establish itself as a leading destination for nighttime tourism in Korea.

Meanwhile, the current pilot operation is scheduled to run until the 26th. Due to limited parking during nighttime hours, a shuttle bus service is being provided, and visitors can enjoy the content while listening to explanations from a docent.
