Seo-gu raised awareness about smoking within no-smoking zones through no-smoking placards and promotional materials. In addition, educational materials addressing the dangers of youth smoking and the harms of secondhand smoke were provided to encourage real improvements in awareness.
Lee Eunju, Head of the Health Promotion Division, stated, "This campaign went beyond simply promoting no-smoking policies and served as an opportunity to make students' daily routes to school safer and more pleasant. We will continue to work with the local community to implement various policies that foster a healthy living environment."
Meanwhile, through ordinances, the district has expanded and designated more than 400 locations-including apartment complexes, bus stops, urban parks, school routes, and gas stations-as no-smoking zones. Seo-gu is also taking the lead in creating a smoke-free environment in the region by operating smoking cessation clinics, providing customized smoking prevention education, monitoring and enforcing no-smoking zones, and running promotional campaigns.
