On the 23rd, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups stated that it held a "Large and Small Business Win-Win Cooperation Promotion Meeting" at the Korea Enterprises Federation Conference Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was organized to explore new directions for win-win cooperation and to discuss institutional improvement measures. Attendees included Minister Han, senior executives overseeing win-win cooperation from major Korean conglomerates such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, SK, LG, Lotte, and Hanwha, as well as representatives from the Korea Enterprises Federation and the Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Business, Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperation.
In her opening remarks, Minister Han stated, "Win-win cooperation should not be a temporary support measure, but rather institutionalized as a structure for sustainable growth." She added, "The government will expand the scope of win-win cooperation beyond the traditional manufacturing-centered principal-subcontractor relationship, so that it can actively respond to the rapidly changing economic environment in areas such as platforms, distribution, and finance."
She continued, "We will work to enhance the effectiveness of the Coexistence Cooperation Fund and to ensure the prompt establishment of the supply price linkage system, so that a culture of fair transactions can take root. The government will do its utmost as a facilitator of corporate growth, so that various win-win cooperation efforts can bear abundant fruit."
At this meeting, win-win cooperation models currently being promoted by six major conglomerates were shared. Samsung Electronics is spreading an innovation ecosystem through the distribution of smart factories and the nurturing of startups, while Hyundai Motor Company is focusing on strengthening the competitiveness of its partners in response to the transition to future vehicles.
SK is expanding its ESG-based win-win cooperation model by providing free patent transfers and operating a technology cooperation platform, while LG Electronics is supporting its partners in securing next-generation technologies and expanding win-win payment systems. Lotte is working to help small and medium-sized enterprises expand sales channels and support overseas exports, while Hanwha is strengthening its support system for defense industry partners to boost the K-Defense sector.
Minister Han emphasized, "The fact that the Coexistence Cooperation Fund has surpassed 3 trillion won in the 15 years since the system was implemented is a valuable achievement accomplished together by large and small businesses." She further stressed, "Win-win cooperation is not a choice, but a strategic solution for survival to overcome and leap forward in an era of uncertainty."
