Seoul Through the Eyes of Travelers... Sejong Art Academy Travel Drawing Exhibition Jaejaenamu's "The Cold Night of Jongno". Sejong Center for the Performing Arts

Hosted by the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and supported by Staedtler Korea, this exhibition features four professional travel drawing artists from Korea-Jung Yeonseok, Jung Seungbin, Genie, and Jaejaenamu-as well as 39 citizen artists. From March to June, participants completed works through both basic and advanced courses in the Sejong Art Academy's "Travel Drawing Class with Staedtler Pens." A total of 89 travel drawing pieces will be on display.

Ahn Hosang, President of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, stated, "Seoul, which we encounter every day, is a city of culture and the arts where tradition and modernity coexist, holding remarkable value. I hope this exhibition becomes a special opportunity to discover a new side of Seoul within our daily lives. The Sejong Center will continue to collaborate with companies to expand opportunities for everyone to easily experience and practice art in their everyday lives."

Lee Gwanju, CEO of Staedtler Korea, who supported the exhibition, said, "I hope this becomes a valuable opportunity for many citizens to realize and experience that art is not something distant, but rather something that demonstrates its value in every moment of our lives."

The exhibition is organized around four administrative districts representing Seoul: Jung-gu, Jongno-gu, Yongsan-gu, and Dongdaemun-gu. The "Seoul Jung-gu" theme, guided by architect-turned-artist Jung Yeonseok, features drawings of buildings in Insadong, Jongno, and Euljiro that bear the marks of time. The "Seoul Yongsan-gu" section, led by Jung Seungbin, captures the old alleys and sunset moments of Haebangchon and Itaewon. The "Seoul Dongdaemun-gu" area, interpreted by Genie, depicts the dynamic atmosphere of Dongdaemun. The "Seoul Jongno-gu" section, curated by Jaejaenamu, presents works portraying spaces where Seoul’s past and present coexist, such as Ihwa-dong, Suseong-dong Valley, and Bukchon.

The exhibition will run until November 15 at the Hangeul Gallery in Sejong Story at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and admission is free. There will also be interactive events open to everyone, such as a "coloring experience" where visitors can color works by the four professional artists.
