Jeonnam Province and Goheung County have begun actively attracting investment from aerospace companies by holding the Jeonnam Aerospace Industry Investment Promotion Briefing for associations and business representatives in the aerospace, aviation, and drone industries. The event took place on October 22 at the Sono Calm Goyang Grand Ballroom in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The briefing focused on informing anchor companies in the metropolitan area’s aerospace sector about the current status of the Goheung Aerospace Industry Cluster, and on promoting investment in the national aerospace industrial complex and related projects.
During the event, several agreements were signed, including: ▲ a joint cooperation business agreement for revitalizing the aerospace industry; ▲ an investment agreement for attracting aerospace industry companies; and ▲ an occupancy agreement for the Goheung Unmanned Aerial Agricultural Technology Specialized Industrial Complex.
Additionally, the event featured an investment promotion briefing for the aerospace industry, as well as a forum with invited experts in the field, discussing the market outlook for the aerospace industry and the current status of Goheung’s Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and drone industries.
Notably, the event was held during 'Seoul ADEX 2025,' the nation’s largest aerospace exhibition, taking place at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, through October 24. Over 100 representatives from companies and organizations in the aerospace sector attended. A consultation booth was also operated to inform metropolitan companies about Jeonnam’s major aerospace infrastructure, residential conditions, upcoming projects, and corporate support incentives.
Jeonnam Province is accelerating efforts to attract the second space center and establish a space launch vehicle science complex. The province is also working to quickly develop key infrastructure such as national defense and civilian launch pads and the national aerospace industrial complex to support both defense and civilian space launch vehicle companies.
In the aviation sector, the province is actively working to attract anchor companies by leveraging infrastructure such as the National Comprehensive Flight Performance Test Site, the Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) demonstration complex, the Goheung Drone Center, and the Unmanned Aerial Specialized Agricultural Industrial Complex.
Together with Goheung County, the province is also actively pursuing projects to improve residential conditions for companies, including the construction of public youth rental housing and the Jeonnam-style '10,000-won housing' by 2026, as well as job-linked support housing by 2027.
Kim Gihong, Director of Strategic Industries at Jeonnam Province, said, "Goheung is an area optimized for launch vehicle testing, satellite development, and future aircraft demonstrations, and it is set to grow into a strategic hub for the domestic aerospace industry."
