Gwanak District to Host "Ground Sharosu" MZ Festival at Sharosugil

After receiving a great response for the "Youth Arcade" festival held last June, the district will introduce a "Youth Culture Playground" at this event, featuring a variety of cultural content tailored to young people's tastes.

This festival will take place throughout the Sharosugil area under the theme "Ground Sharosu," and will be organized into three sections: ▲Ground Vibe ▲Ground Play ▲Ground Taste.

At Ground Vibe, renowned DJs will perform popular EDM music, accompanied by a laser light show to heighten the excitement at the venue.

Ground Play will feature nostalgic games such as shoe tossing and Gongginori, as well as mini sports games like mini curling and darts. The district stated, "Participants who complete game missions will receive discount coupons that can be used within the commercial district, which will help stimulate the local economy."

Ground Taste will set up a "Night Market Street" with popular restaurants from Sharosugil participating. Visitors can enjoy a variety of food and snacks, savoring the romance of an autumn night on the street. In addition, there will be a "Tea Sharing Event" prepared by seniors from the Deokjin Senior Center in Sharosugil, adding to the festival's spirit of bringing all generations together.

On the day of the festival, November 1, vehicle traffic will be restricted on Gwanak-ro 14-gil from 9 a.m. until midnight.

Sharosugil was selected for the Seoul Local Brand Development Project last year, securing a budget of 3 billion won over three years. The district is working to transform it into a "Seoul signature commercial district" by expanding infrastructure, developing content, and strengthening merchants' capabilities. Over 26,000 people attended the "Sharosugil Youth Arcade" event in June, resulting in a sales increase of more than 25% compared to the week before the festival.

Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak District, stated, "Sharosugil is becoming more than just a commercial district; it is establishing itself as a cultural space created by young people. Through local event festivals where young people take center stage, we will ensure that Sharosugil firmly takes root as a youth culture commercial district."
